JUST FOR KIDS
(Ages 6-12)

Join a Park Ranger and learn about Riverside State Park. 
For children 6- 12 years of age, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

What is a Fossil?  
Learn about fossils and how they are created.
See some fossils first hand, and make your own to keep.

Meet at the Bowl and Pitcher Amphitheater .

June 16

Plant Hunt
Learn how plants adapt and grow in their surroundings.
Then experience the plant world first hand as you begin the scavenger hunt.
Meet at the Bowl and Pitcher Amphitheater .

June 30

Waterfowl to Hoot Owl
Make a birdhouse while you learn about Riverside’s various feathered friends.
Meet at the Spokane House Interpretive Center

July 14

Journey of the Salmon
Learn about the salmon life cycle and the challenges they face first hand as you play this game.
Be ready to run and jump.
Meet at the Spokane House Interpretive Center

August 4

Surprise Terrarium
Learn about various critters and how they adapt to their surroundings,
like changing colors to blend with their habitat.
Meet at the Bowl and Pitcher Amphitheater

August 18

Story Time
Sit around and listen to cultural stories of the Northwest while you create your own rock paintings using the same materials historically used by the Native Americans.
Meet at Indian Painted Rocks
