The First Americans

The first people to live in what is now Riverside State Park and vicinity developed an extraordinary culture and lifestyle that tried to live in accord with the environmental resources of the area.

Some of the members of the Spokane, Colville, Kootenai, Coeur d'Alene, and other nearby tribes have developed several excellent web sites which share the culture, history, and activities of their tribes. Please visit their sites.
